Marine Awareness Week

April 11 - April 18

This years theme is ‘Discover the sea’.

Programme:

Thursday 11 April (6:30pm @ Mule Yard, Jamestown) :

Fish and lobster on St Helena – A talk on the fish and lobster being studied in and around St Helena. Followed by outdoor cinema ‘Captain Phillips’.

 

Saturday 13 April (7pm @ Anne’s Place)

Marine quiz night hosted by St Helena Nature Conservation Group – Come and test your marine knowledge with many prizes to be won.

 

Sunday 14 April

(10am @ Jamestown Wharf) Dive/snorkel clean-up at Jamestown Wharf

(5:30pm @ Mule Yard) Early evening movie ‘A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures’

 

Monday 15 April (6:30pm @ Mule yard)

The Blue Belt Programme, followed by the documentary ‘Remote: A look at St Helena’s Marine Life’

 

Tuesday 16 April (6:30pm @ Mule Yard)

RRS Discovery – About the Voyage – A talk given by CEFAS and British Antarctic Survey on the recent visit by the ship.

 

Wednesday 17 April (6:30pm @ Mule Yard)

Blue Belt Science around St Helena – A talk given by CEFAS about some of the science conducted in and around St Helena’s waters.
