Napoleon’s exile on St Helena is a very large part of our culture. Therefore, every year on 5 May, or the weekend closest to this day, Napoleon’s death is remembered with the Moment de Memoire ceremony at his tomb in Sane Valley.
This event is open to all members of the public and everyone is welcome to lay a wreath at his tomb.
To celebrate this occasion, Longwood House was also open to the public free of charge.
