Hospitality training: increasing capacity

St Helena Tourism has successfully concluded a comprehensive hospitality training programme that has benefited over 200 participants. This initiative was designed to develop and expand the local industry workforce, elevate visitor service, and ultimately enhance the St Helena experience. We are open! St Helena’s COVID-19 entry restrictions have been lifted.  Weekly flights resume from 8 October 2022. Vaccination Entry to St Helena is not affected by vaccination status. Public spaces Masks are not required in public spaces, except within COVID-free Zones such as the General Hospital. Mask-wearing may also be required by individual businesses, taxis etc. Quarantine No quarantine is required upon entry. Isolation may be advised on-island, if symptomatic and/or needing medical attention. Airlink Aircraft on St Helena Island

The Titan charter flights that replaced St Helena’s usual air service with South Africa so far throughout the pandemic will come to an end in March, as the Airlink serviceis set to resume. In late 2021, St Helena Government announced that air service between Johannesburg and St Helena would recommence from 26 March 2022. This service, operated by Airlink, will be provided fortnightly. A monthly shuttle between St Helena and Ascension Island will be included. Ticket sales are now live at www.flyairlink.com (travellers can alternatively contact travelagent@solomons.co.sh. Previous Next Jonathan’s 190th Birthday Jonathan the Tortoise is the oldest known living land animal on Earth. As of January 2022, he is also the oldest chelonian ever recorded. Born in the early 1800s, Jonathan has lived on the remote island of St Helena, in the South Atlantic Ocean, since 1882. He has spent his island life in the Plantation House paddock, alongside a handful of other (younger!) tortoises. He has watched more than 30 Governors come and go from Plantation House; watched the island introduce radios, telephones, TVs, internet, cars and an airport.  He has lived through two world wars.
